There’s a new protocol that’s trying something different instead of building just another Web3 app it’s creating a full blockchain layer for messaging. It runs as an EVM compatible L2 on Base, with smart contracts for logic, off-chain stream nodes for real time chat, and encrypted, user owned spaces that can grow in value.
One interesting thing is how you can build your own space like a Discord server but it’s onchain, programmable, and even has onchain memberships and reputation. Not just another messaging app it’s more like infrastructure for all kinds of social use cases.
I noticed Bitget recently listed it, which made me curious. Not necessarily hyping it, but it does show how comms could be treated more like DeFi or gaming with full ownership and flexibility built in.
The whole thing is backed by a strong team and some serious funding too. If anything, it’s good to see communication getting a proper decentralized framework especially one built over Base. Curious if others think we’ll see more social layers built like this?
